For science-fair teams and school communities

School science-fair fund with flexible contributions

Help supporters fund the materials that make a science fair possible. Explain the approved shopping list, let each person choose a contribution, and keep giving separate from student exhibits and volunteer commitments.

Show the practical purpose

Help curiosity get the materials it needs.

A specific list of shared display supplies or activity materials gives supporters a reason to contribute. Keep the explanation about the program and leave student information out of payment messages.

  • Name shared purchases

Explain which materials the central fund will provide and which project supplies remain a family's responsibility.

  • Keep participation separate

Link to the actual exhibit and volunteer signup pages. Paying into the fund does not complete either process.

  • Coordinate the school team

Organization can give coordinators shared management and contacts. Review the recipient and school approvals before circulating the collection.

A few practical questions

Before you share your collection

Is $15 required?
No. It is a suggestion in the description. Supporters enter their own positive amount from $1 when they choose to make a payment.
Can someone register a student exhibit by paying?
No. Collection payments do not create exhibitors, attendees, or volunteer signups. Give families a separate registration route.
Does the collection show an automatic fundraising goal?
Collection pages do not provide a fundraising-goal meter. You can explain the budget and share appropriate progress updates using the payment records.
Can we collect before Stripe is ready?
You can explore this example and start a Free account without Stripe. Creating a real collection requires a ready receiving account; complete payment setup when you are ready to collect.
Do I need a paid plan to collect payments?
No. Payments are available on Free and Organization with an eligible US Stripe account and US-dollar payments. Complete Stripe setup for the personal or Organization workspace receiving the money. Transaction fees apply. Organization is useful when colleagues share management, contacts, and an ongoing program.
