Payments, Contributions, and Collection Pages
Collect event or slot fees, invite optional contributions, or share a standalone collection page. Learn what guests pay, how fees work, and where to start.
Available on Free and Organization. Complete Stripe setup with an eligible US account to collect payments in US dollars.
Choose how to collect
Collect money alongside a signup, or create a page just for payments. Stripe handles secure checkout and bank payouts. Signup Bubble keeps the payment connected to your event or collection so you can track it, share receipts, and manage refunds.
- Whole-event fee: charge one amount for the event, regardless of which slots someone chooses. Useful for a dinner, class, or family outing.
- Selected slot fees: give individual sessions or items their own prices. Leave other slots free. Someone choosing several priced slots pays their combined total.
- Optional contributions: keep signup free and let people choose an amount or skip contributing. You can suggest an amount without requiring it.
- A fee plus an optional extra: collect the required fee and offer a separate contribution toward supplies or another shared cost.
- A collection page: collect for a group gift, team snacks, donations, or shared expenses without asking people to reserve a place or RSVP.
Event payments support public signup events. For a private event or a poll-only page, use a separate collection page. The collection itself is public to anyone with its link.
Start with Stripe setup
You need a Stripe account connected through Signup Bubble before you can collect money. Open Payment settings and choose Connect with Stripe to start. Stripe guides you through account, identity, and bank details; return to Signup Bubble to check that the account is ready.
Follow the Stripe setup guide for the full walkthrough, including personal versus organization accounts and what to do if verification is still pending.
Add payments to an event
- 1
Create or open your event
Choose Event or signup, set up the RSVP or slots, and open Payments and contributions.
- 2
Choose a payment option
Select Set a fee or Invite contributions. For a fee, choose The whole event or Selected slots when available. Slot fees can also be entered in each slot’s details.
- 3
Explain the payment
Add the amount, who is collecting, a contact email, and refund and cancellation information. The collecting name and contact email appear on the public page.
- 4
Review and enable collection
Check the price and recipient before publishing. For an existing event, choose Enable collection or Save payment options. You can save a payment draft while finishing Stripe setup; saving a draft alone does not start collecting.
Paid amounts start at $1. Blank slot fees mean free. An optional extra contribution is added once per signup.
Per signup or per attendee?
For people signups, Per signup charges once for the booking, including its guests. Per attendee charges for the main attendee plus every additional guest.
Charging and capacity are separate choices. Review your guest count and capacity settings so both the price and the available places match your plan. Item signups charge per signup.
Create and share a collection page
- 1
Finish Stripe setup for the right workspace
A new collection needs a ready Stripe connection. Personal collections use your personal account; organization collections use the organization’s shared account.
- 2
Choose Collection page
Start a new page from Events and select Collection page as the event type. Add a title and a short explanation of what the money supports.
- 3
Set the amount and appearance
Choose a fixed amount or let people choose an amount starting at $1. Under Appearance, use Bubble art, upload a photo or flyer, or keep a simple banner.
- 4
Review and publish
Add the collecting name, contact email, and refund information. Check the Review section, then choose Publish collection. Save draft keeps the page unpublished.
- 5
Share with your group
Use Share to copy the public link, send a message to a person, or choose saved contacts and lists. Messages and sending history are available from the collection dashboard.
Collections live under Events alongside your signup pages. A payment creates a payment record, not an attendee or a slot reservation. Your usual email sending limits apply when you send the link through Signup Bubble.
What guests experience
Guests enter their details, review the total, and continue to Stripe checkout without creating a Signup Bubble account. A required paid signup is confirmed after payment succeeds. A free selection or a skipped optional contribution follows the event’s usual signup flow.
After payment, the guest has a private status link for their payment and receipt, plus a manage-signup link when there is an event booking. Their private payment link is different from the public link you share with the group.
Fees and where the money goes
Organizers pay Stripe processing fees plus Signup Bubble’s 1% fee, with a $0.25 minimum and a $0.75 maximum per checkout.
Guests pay the total shown at checkout. Fees come out of the money you collect. Stripe sends payouts to the bank account set up for the connected Stripe account. No Signup Bubble plan upgrade is required to collect payments.
See Stripe’s current processing fees (opens in a new tab) and our payment status, payouts, and refunds guide for tracking money after checkout.
