Event Reminders and Slot Timing

Configure attendee reminders and check the date and time each person receives.

Reminders go to confirmed attendees

Turn on reminders in the event's signup settings to send attendees their upcoming event details, slot information, and private management link. This is separate from the emails you receive about signup activity.

A pending double-opt-in signup first needs confirmation. A reminder is not the confirm-your-spot email and does not replace that step. See guest signups and confirmation.

Which date and time are used?

  • Fixed-date event: reminders normally go out about a day before the event.
  • Poll with a chosen date: the locked winning date supplies the event schedule.
  • Dated signup slots: reminders use the attendee's slot date and time rather than the first day of the overall window.

For example, a reading event may begin Monday, while a reader chooses Tuesday at 3 PM. The dated Tuesday slot is the relevant schedule. Enter that information in the slot fields, not only in its label.

Reminders run through scheduled background processing. Do not rely on them as an exact-to-the-second delivery guarantee or as a replacement for clear arrival instructions on the event page.

Before sharing a dated event

  1. Check the event timezone and date window.
  2. Review the actual date, start time, and end time of every slot.
  3. Keep the reminder setting enabled if guests should receive automatic reminders.
  4. Check the guest preview and video or location instructions.

Use the several-dates reference for the setup controls. If you change a published event, review the available event-update message rather than assuming an earlier reminder communicates the change.

If someone did not receive a reminder

Check that the signup is confirmed, the email address is correct, reminders are on, and the relevant date/time is in the future and correctly configured. Ask the attendee to check their spam folder. Very late signups or schedule changes may not follow the same timing as a signup made well in advance.

For messages you compose, use message history to review the recorded queue and send status. Do not interpret that as proof that every automatic message reached a recipient's inbox.
