Connect Stripe and Get Ready to Collect

Start Stripe setup from Signup Bubble, add your account and payout details, and check readiness. Find help with verification, website requirements, and personal or organization accounts.

Payments beta

Stripe setup currently supports eligible US accounts, with payments in US dollars. It is available on Free and Organization.

Start inside Signup Bubble

Signup Bubble uses Stripe to process payments and send your money to your bank. Start from Connect with Stripe in Signup Bubble so the payment account is connected to the right workspace. Creating a Stripe account separately does not complete this connection.

You do not need to arrange the account in advance. Stripe walks you through setup from the link we provide. If you already have a Stripe login, sign in when prompted and follow the steps for this connection. Stripe may offer to reuse details from an existing account.

Choose who receives the money

  • Personal events and collections: open Account settings, find Payments for your events, and choose Open payment settings.
  • Organization events and collections: switch to the organization, open Team & settings, and find Payments. The organization owner handles Stripe setup. Teammates can check the status and use the shared connection once it is ready.
  • While building a page: follow Review Stripe setup or the setup link in the payment section. Check whether it names your personal account or the organization before continuing.

A personal Stripe connection does not enable an organization’s payments. The event or collection’s workspace determines where its payments go, including pages created by teammates.

Complete the setup

  1. 1

    Choose Connect with Stripe

The button opens a secure Stripe setup page. If you started earlier, choose Continue setup to pick up where you left off.

  2. 2

Describe who is collecting and what for

Follow Stripe’s prompts for your account and activity. Have your contact details, account-holder information, and a clear description of what people will pay for ready. Stripe’s verification questions depend on your situation.

  3. 3

    Add payout and verification details

Provide the bank account that should receive payouts and any identity or business information Stripe requests. Enter these details on Stripe’s pages.

  4. 4

    Return and check readiness

Back in Signup Bubble, look for Your Stripe account is ready. Both Card payments and Bank payouts must be enabled. Use Refresh status if you just finished a step in Stripe.

  5. 5

    Enable payments on your page

Return to your event or collection and review its payment options. Connecting Stripe prepares the account; you still choose the fees or contributions and publish or enable collection on each page.

Returning from Stripe does not always mean verification is complete. Stripe may still be checking your information or waiting for another detail. Use the status shown in Signup Bubble before sharing a page that needs payment.

If Stripe asks for a website

Use a public page that clearly describes who is collecting money, what it is for, and how to contact you. A suitable public Signup Bubble event or organization page may work if it meets Stripe’s requirements. A draft, private dashboard, or page requiring a login is not a public description of your activity.

Stripe decides whether the page is sufficient. Check Stripe’s website guidance (opens in a new tab) if you do not have a website of your own.

If setup feels stuck

  • Let’s finish your Stripe setup: choose Continue setup and complete the remaining prompts.
  • Stripe is checking your setup: review the Stripe dashboard for updates. Approval is not always immediate. Refresh status in Signup Bubble after Stripe updates the account.
  • Stripe needs your attention: open Stripe and supply the requested information. Check any deadline shown on Payment settings.
  • Your Stripe account needs a review: check Stripe’s explanation and contact Stripe support about verification or account restrictions.
  • The setup link expired: return to Signup Bubble and choose Continue setup for a fresh link. Your saved progress remains.
  • There is no Connect button for your organization: ask the organization owner to complete setup. Managing events does not automatically grant permission to connect its bank and Stripe account.
  • Stripe is no longer connected: use Start a new Stripe connection if offered. If the connection has payment history, contact Signup Bubble for help.

Get help with the right part

For verification requests, bank details, account restrictions, or payout questions, use Stripe support (opens in a new tab). For a missing setup link or a status that still looks wrong after refreshing, contact Signup Bubble with your workspace name and the message you see.
