Several Dates and Times

Set up dated slots, choose the event window and timezone, and understand per-slot reminders.

One event with a choice of sessions

Choose Several dates & times when people claim particular sessions across a window of days. Office hours, a reading program, or a volunteer week can share one event page while each slot has its own date and time.

These are slots inside one event. A recurring series creates separate events and is an Organization feature. The multiple-dates guide helps you choose.

Set up the event window

  1. Under When is this event?, choose Several dates & times.
  2. Enter the first and last calendar day. Select the event timezone.
  3. Add a slot for each session, with a date inside that window, a start time, and the number of places. Add an end time when you know it.
  4. Use an optional label for the role or room, such as Library discussion or Sorting. The date and time belong in their own fields.
  5. Review the guest page and reminder settings before publishing.

The reading-group and office-hours starters provide a relative schedule. Choose your first day, then use Apply starter schedule to these dates. This replaces the starter slot list; review your edits before using it again.

Review capacity separately from dates

Each slot has its own capacity. An optional event-wide attendee limit adds a separate cap across the event. For three sessions with eight places each, set each session to eight; do not also set the whole event to eight unless that total limit is intentional.

If guests may choose more than one session, enable multiple selections. A guest uses capacity in each chosen slot but counts once toward event headcount. Overlapping commitments are not automatically checked. See slots and capacity.

Confirmations and reminders use the slot schedule

A guest who picks a later session should receive that session's date and time, not just the start of the event window. Store real slot dates and times so confirmations, reminders, and calendar details can use them. Review event reminders for timing and troubleshooting.

When a date changes

Review both the event window and the affected slot dates. Changing the first day alone should not be treated as moving every session. Keep each slot inside the window, check existing signups, and review the event-update message before sending it.

If a time is wrong in the guest view, inspect the slot's actual date/time fields and event timezone first. If a signup is refused even though that slot has space, also inspect the event-wide attendee limit and pending confirmation holds.
