Give every request a clear purpose

Keep the carnival's moving parts easy to tell apart.

Families may be asked to contribute supplies, volunteer, attend, or help with costs. Label each action clearly so a payment is not mistaken for a job or reservation.

  • Name the shared supplies

List the budget items the contribution supports and identify the purchasing coordinator. Avoid an unexplained general fee.

  • Link the separate commitments

Use a volunteer sheet for helpers, an exhibitor page for booths, and an RSVP when you need attendance. Explain which action each link completes.

  • Share the event administration

Organization gives school event colleagues shared management and contacts. Review the shared Stripe recipient before distributing the collection link.

A few practical questions

Before you share your collection

Does paying give a family admission to the carnival?
No. This collection example is for shared costs only. Use an event RSVP or paid signup if the payment must also reserve attendance.
Can vendors use this to book a booth?
No. Use the vendor and exhibitor template for individually labeled booth reservations with prices and capacity. A collection does not assign spaces.
Can we make the contribution flexible?
Yes. Change the amount option to Let people choose and revise the invitation before sharing. This example uses one fixed $15 payment.
Will it stop a household paying twice?
No. Coordinate the one-payment-per-household rule in the invitation and review payment records when a duplicate is reported.
Do I need a paid plan to collect payments?
No. Payments are available on Free and Organization with an eligible US Stripe account and US-dollar payments. Complete Stripe setup for the personal or Organization workspace receiving the money. Transaction fees apply. Organization is useful when colleagues share management, contacts, and an ongoing program.
