Connect the meal to the work

Explain what the evening makes possible.

A community meal program, a neighborhood project, or another clearly described beneficiary gives the invitation purpose. Use specific plans and a named contact instead of a vague fundraising promise.

  • Describe the dinner

Tell guests what their required fee includes and how to raise a dietary or access question before booking.

  • Describe the support

Explain the project and who receives the optional extra. A separate collection works for people who want to help without taking a dinner place.

  • Coordinate the team

Organization gives colleagues shared management and contacts. Keep dinner reservations, volunteer roles, and contribution records clear in your planning.

Payments

Cover the meal and invite support for the project

Charge for every dinner attendee, then add an optional contribution once per booking. Clear wording helps guests understand what is required and what they can choose.

Available on Free and Organization. Complete Stripe setup with an eligible US account to collect payments in US dollars. Organizers pay Stripe processing fees plus Signup Bubble’s 1% fee, with a $0.25 minimum and a $0.75 maximum per checkout.

  1. 1

Confirm the beneficiary and receiving account

Explain the project the dinner supports and choose the correct personal or Organization Stripe connection. Shared fundraising teams can use an Organization workspace.

  2. 2

    Review meals and capacity

The payment example charges $25 per attendee, allows groups, and limits attendance to sixty. Adjust those values to the venue, catering agreement, and actual budget.

  3. 3

    Explain the optional support

Keep the suggested $10 extra separate from what dinner costs. Describe how the funds will be used without making tax or charitable-status claims the organizer has not established.

  4. 4

    Review the guest experience

Add menu, dietary question, accessibility, date, contact, and refund information. Check totals for a group with and without an extra before saving and publishing.

Beyond the signup list

A small plan for a smoother day.

Use these example notes to think through the work before, during, and after your event.

  1. Before opening

    Agree on the dinner budget

Confirm meal costs, capacity, beneficiary wording, and the receiving account. Assign a contact for guest questions.

  2. Before service

    Use confirmed party counts

Give catering the number of dinner guests, not the number of payment records. Review unresolved reservations and dietary responses.

  3. After the event

    Report support clearly

Distinguish collected amounts, refunds, fees, and bank payouts when reviewing the results. Share the project update promised to supporters.

Join our Community Benefit Dinner for $25 per attendee. Include everyone coming in your party size. You may add an optional contribution to support the project; the suggested $10 is added once to your booking. Two dinner places are $50, or $60 with that extra. Please review the menu, beneficiary, and refund information before paying.

A little more help

The next question, answered.

A few practical questions

Before you share your signup

Can guests skip the extra contribution?
Yes. The dinner fee remains required, but the extra is optional. Two attendees can pay $50 without adding anything else.
Is the extra multiplied by the number of guests?
No. The optional contribution is added once per booking. A $10 extra on a two-person booking adds $10, not $20.
Can a supporter contribute without attending dinner?
Use a separate collection page for support without a dinner reservation. This payment example combines attendance with a fee for every dinner participant.
Does Signup Bubble make the payment tax-deductible?
No. This template describes an event fee and optional support. The organizer is responsible for any appropriate statements about the recipient or tax treatment; do not imply that every contribution qualifies.
Do I need a paid plan to collect payments?
No. Payments are available on Free and Organization with an eligible US Stripe account and US-dollar payments. Complete Stripe setup for the personal or Organization workspace receiving the money. Transaction fees apply. Organization is useful when colleagues share management, contacts, and an ongoing program.
